A journey in two halves

Published

The challenges we face in Europe are significant. Not only do we have to deal with global conflicts and the global economic challenges but are also coming to terms with the demographic challenges we all face in terms of our vanishing birth rates and ageing populations. Demographic solutions are inevitably continuing to be a challenge.

While progress is evident in sectors like healthcare, where precision approaches yield innovative treatments, other areas such as pension reform and enhancing the quality of life for older citizens lag behind. Our aim should extend beyond mere longevity to ensure active, productive aging within communities.

Delivering healthy longevity remains a formidable task. Despite advancements in life expectancy, many older individuals endure years of suffering due to multiple health conditions. Moreover, implementing population-wide precision health strategies remains limited, with inadequate focus on preventative healthcare spending.

Additionally, we must address labor market dynamics. Despite widespread job vacancies and workforce shortages, ageism prevents many seniors from participating fully in the economy. To unleash the potential of this untapped workforce, we must actively encourage their engagement.

Despite these challenges, we’ve made considerable strides. While the road ahead is challenging, opportunities for positive change abound. Join us at the Radical Health Festival in Helsinki, where we’ll discuss policies shaping the present and future.

This is your opportunity to be radical. Take it.
