  • Our kids today are born into a world that is completely different than the one we were raised in. All information is at their fingertips, good and bad.

Keynote (10 min)

Katarina Gehrmann will deliver a keynote presentation on innovation at HUS new children’s hospital, walking us through what a hospital looks like when it’s truly designed with patients in the center. 

Panel Discussion: The patient’s perspective – What needs to be done? (15 min)

The panelists will discuss how digital health technologies can improve the overall patient experience for children and their families. They will explore specific aspects of care that can be enhanced through digital solutions, the empowerment of children and families in their own care, and potential barriers and concerns related to the adoption of digital health tools.

Demo: NucuBaby (5 min)

Marco Suvilaakso will present Nucu, a Finnish sleep wellness company with the goal of helping newborns and their families. Their  first first consumer product from Nucu is expected to be released by the end of 2023.

Panel Discussion: Improving communication through digital tools (15 min)

The panelists will discuss how digital health solutions can support the emotional and psychological well-being of pediatric patients, improve communication among the triangle of patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals, and address challenges and barriers in implementing digital health solutions in professional settings.

Demo: Nen.health (5 min)

Francesca Wuttke will present Nen.health, a company developing evidence-based digital therapeutics to help children fighting cancer manage pain through gamification of cognitive behavioral therapy.

Panel Discussion: From wellness to digital therapeutics, From the clinical setting to homes (15 min)

The panelists will discuss successful examples of digital health interventions for children, the role of technology in supporting emotional well-being and mental health services, extending digital health initiatives from the clinical setting to the home environment, and challenges and opportunities associated with remote monitoring, health apps, and educational resources at home.

Wrap-up (5 min)

Panel Discussion: Supply and demand of mental health support – and what role does technology play in all of this? (15 min) 

Panelists will discuss the changing demand for mental health support, the factors contributing to increased demand, the adequacy of the supply of support and solutions, and the benefits and drawbacks of using technology in mental health support.

Michael Goldstrom will give a short overview of GetMotivatedBuddies, a platform that promotes motivation and accountability through group support.

Demo: Arab Therapy (5 min)

Tareq Dalbah will showcase Arab Therapy, a smart Digital Platform that connects minorities suffering from mental stress with psychologists.

Panel Discussion: The complementing roles of wellness and healthcare solutions, and their role in early intervention (15 min) 

Panelists will explore the role of support tools in early intervention, ensuring quality and safety in online mental health services, ethical considerations of technology in mental health, and the balance between technological innovation and maintaining human connection.

Henna Salonius and Sanna Koskela will present Nuanic, a company that develops medical-grade biosensors and software for early detection and prevention of mental disorders.

Panel Discussion: Technology is increasingly part of our daily lives, what role will advanced sensors and technology play in the future? (15 min)

Panelists will discuss the shift towards clinically relevant technological solutions, the enhancement of telehealth and remote care with advanced sensors and technology, ethical considerations, and potential breakthroughs in mental health research and treatment
